La Rade

Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, 2013

La Rade treats the shore of Lake Biel as a public space for the whole agglomeration. In 2013 Luis Hilti was part of the team of Christian Salewski, Christina Nater, Simon Kretz and Oscar Buson in AGGLOlac's ideas competition for the former Expo.02 site. The plan proposes a continuous open shore and a car-free quarter of timber-concrete “new pile dwellings”. The jury eliminated La Rade in the second round in December 2013.
