MONOTONY AND BIODIVERSITY
YEAR | 2022 | 2023
INSTITUTIONS | University of Liechtenstein | Kunstschule Liechtenstein
Monotony and Biodiversity explores the intricate and reciprocal relationship between biodiversity and architectural production.
Monotony and Biodiversity is an ongoing research project by Atelier Gapont. We regularly conduct lectures and workshops to share, develop, and discuss our findings with students and the broader public.

Biodiversity-positive architecture is a field yet to be fully established within a profession still grappling with the challenges of climate change
Monotony and Biodiversity aims to lay the foundation for this approach in architecture and urban design.
It focuses on uncovering the core principles underlying biodiversity and exploring their potential integration into anthropogenic landscapes.
The workshop-lecture is collaborative and explorative, aiming to reveal the hidden connections between our production of space and the decline of species on Earth—and to explore ways to reverse this trajectory.
