How did public space develop over the last century in Liechtenstein? What is its potential?
At first, new forms of mobility elevated the quality of public space in Liechtenstein, since they were in constant friction with old forms of mobility.
However, the domination of cars and the separation or degradation of pedestrian space has lead to a decline of public spaces
Public Space is as much a social tool as it is an aesthetic and ecological one.
Mobility Space and Social space are two sides of one coin.
favouring humans and the ecological infrastructure over cars and traffic infrastructure would lead to better public spaces and a society of cohesion.
The systemic sharp division of public and private in the settlement structure has led to the deterioration of the public (space). Other cities show how it could be done differently.
